1. AIB does not have a specific student travel loan. However, students can avail of AIB's regular student loan which currently has an APR of 9.79% - see our Student Loan cost comparison for more information.
2. The travel loan must be fully repaid within 9 months to avoid interest charges. After 9 months the standard student variable interest rate will apply on any outstanding balance. This rate is currently 11.90% APR.
3. Where a repayment is not made on the due date, an interest surcharge of 0.75% per month (which equals 9% per year) subject to a minimum charge of €2.54 per month will apply to the amount in arrears. Please note interest surcharges apply in addition to the interest rate and are calculated on the uncleared statement balance.
